Hi, I am female, 52 yo. Yesterday I had an EKG (for heart-unrelated reasons) which said possible left atrial enlargement and septal infarct, age undetermined. I know what these things mean. My View answer

Old or Age Indeterminate Septal Myocardial Infarction by EKG Finding Definition An electrocardiographic finding of pathologic Q waves in leads V1, V2 and often V3, which is suggestive of myocardial infarction of the intraventricular septum, without evidence of current or ongoing acute infarction. “Septal infarct, age undetermined” is an EKG finding that means there has been an infarct (tissue death, “heart attack”) in the interventricular septum (the muscular wall between the right and left ventricles) at some point in the past. Septal infarcts cause QS waves to occur in V1 and V2, explains the Clinical Exercise Physiology Consortium. In addition to septal infarcts and incorrect ECG technique, lung diseases and abnormalities of intraventricular conduction can also cause QS waves in V1 and V2. EKG machines are always calling septal infracts in people that have never had a heart attack. It has to do with lead position and the fact EKG interpretations are meant to miss as few things as possible. They tend to over call infarcts. If you have a normal cath, normal echo and are 33 years old, you probably haven't had a septal infarct.

I had 2 ECGs - one in Mar 2015 and on in Jul 2017 both by the same tech and office and both came back "septal infarct, age undetermined" - no physical symptoms. is this something I should have a cardi … read more My EKG resulted in sinus rhythm but possible inferior or anterior infarct – age undetermined.

An EKG/ECG that finds dead tissue of undetermined age in the inferior heart wall is called an "inferior infarct, age undetermined." An infarct is heart tissue that dies from a heart attack, which electrocardiograms, or EKG/ECG, detect because the dead muscle no longer contracts, according to WebMD and the American Heart Association.

My EKG results concluded: Normal sinus rhythm, possible anterior infarct, age undetermined, abnormal ECG. I am a 49 year old female. I’m not overweight (128 lbs, 5’6″). I recently had the EKG (my first) because of upcoming minor surgery.

They both stated "Normal Sinus Rythm, Septal Infarct Age Undetermined, Abnormal ECG" I have 2 questions. 1) Am I stable to undergo surgery

My parents have arranged my marriage with a 23-year-old girl. She was operated for atrial septal defect (ASD) closure of 3 cm size a year back. Can she live a normal life after being operated for ASD? Can she do routine work, office work, exercise and play? What is the life expectancy of such a person? Will there be any problem in future regarding family life?

If you have a normal cath, normal echo and are 33 years old, you probably haven't had a septal infarct. Septal infarcts are associated with diagnostic Q waves in V1and V2. While a QS pattern in V1-2 usually is associated with a septal infarct, it can occur with anatomic changes (vertical axis) due to lung disease or LVH and with intraventricular conduction defects such … Hi, I am female, 52 yo. It reads "normal sinus rhythm, possible left atrial enlargement, septal infarct - age undetermined, abnormal ECG." Can you please tell me what all that means.
