The original idea behind Oatly was to find a way to make a nutritious liquid product for people who just didn’t like cow’s milk or were unwilling to use it for personal reasons. Today, the concept of producing a drink directly from oats instead of first feeding oats to a cow and letting the cow process them into milk is an option but back ‘It tastes like sh*t.’ Maybe not the kind of praise that would tempt you to switch from cow's milk to an oat alternative. This was a real comment from someone trying Oatly for the first time, which Oatly were brave enough to not only place on its packaging but also turn into an ad. Founded in 1994, Swedish company Oatly was the first manufacturer to commercialize oat milk, but it was only after launching in the U.S. in 2016 that the product became a sensation, at one point The Malmo, Sweden-based firm has a lease for 6,000 square feet at the property now owned by investment firm Alliance HSP of Bryn Mawr. Under Petersson’s leadership, Oatly was achieving single-digit growth, and according to Paran, ‘doing ok’.

Oatly har södra Sverige som sin hemmaplan med huvudkontor i Malmö och produktions- och utvecklingsanläggningen i Landskrona.

Projektet startade i slutet av 2018 och har bland annat inkluderat utformningen av en ny Oatlyfierad design- och informationsstruktur.
